Artist Statement
My ongoing practice aims to shed light upon the perceived ‘small’ subjects of daily existence. Snapshots of daily life are often catalogued through the medium of photography, to be shared and multiplied across online platforms, which only adds to their ubiquitous presence and in some ways renders them even more ‘ordinary’.
Richard Storms was born in Wellington, Kansas and settled in Toronto in 1981 and currently resides in Windsor, Ontario since 2020. Storms holds an MFA from York University (1983) with a specialty in Painting and is a widely exhibited Canadian visual artist.
