Artist Statement:
I am a painter who works in oil, from life and photos. Born in the USA, I emigrated to Canada, then moved on to Mexico. My work reflects my travels, and my influences range from Hopper to Impressionism to a Mexican influence of a narrative and color…a realistic style. My interest now is painting the urban landscape where I live. I paint what I see, and through my paintings I witness an urban evolution.

Eleni Mokas lives and works in Mexico with a permanent studio and home in Puebla. She graduated from The University of South Florida, Tampa, with concentrates in painting, sculpture and dance. She also studied painting and sculpture at Ontario College of Art and Design, Toronto. Her work is exhibited in the US, Mexico and Canada.
